OIKON LAW was born from a vision of rethinking legal services — not as file management, but as active business partnership. The name OIKON derives from the Greek oikos, the root of the word economy: the house, the whole. That is exactly how we work: we look at the big picture — legal, tax, and commercial.

Our Story

What is today OIKON LAW began over two decades ago as WPM — Werner und Partner. In 2017, we re-branded to Werner und Partner, before re-founding ourselves as OIKON in 2022. The move was deliberate: we wanted to be a commercial house for international clients, not a traditional corporate law firm. Today we operate as a Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Berufshaftung — two partners, a team of senior associates, and a trusted network of cooperation partners in tax advisory, data protection, and occupational pension schemes.

We have been fully digitalized for six years. Client meetings take place on-site or via video, we document discussions with AI assistance, and our processes are defined in a quality management handbook — so every engagement receives the same high standard of service.

Our Team

Behind OIKON LAW stand experienced individuals — not interchangeable case handlers. Ulrich Baumann leads the firm as Managing Partner and is a Fachanwalt for international business law and employment law. Ralph G. Werner contributes decades of experience in real estate and company law. Daniel Fellmann, Fachanwalt for commercial and company law, advises on cross-border transactions and corporate structures, while Dr. Anna Tönies-Bambalska, Fachanwältin for international business law, guides international clients through market entry in Germany.

The team is complemented by Ralf Löbker, tax advisor and partner, who keeps the tax dimension of every matter in view; Sandra Desche, Fachanwältin for employment law, who covers the employment aspects of corporate transactions; and specialized counsel for data protection and occupational pensions. Two experienced paralegals ensure that day-to-day client contact runs smoothly.

How an Engagement Begins

The first contact is simple: you call or write to us — and receive a personal response within 1–2 hours. No voicemail, no queues. Two experienced paralegals take your call and connect you with the partner responsible for your area.

In the initial conversation, we clarify what is at stake and whether we are the right fit. If we are, you receive a free initial assessment and a proposal for the way forward. After that, we work in a structured way, with regular updates and clear milestones — always with the goal of advancing not only your legal position, but also your business objectives.

As an active member of the UIA and former president of its employment law commission, he has a global network of over 200 specialist colleagues.

Ralph G. Werner
